4Great deep dome  Jan 16, 2011
By Emily
This is great for keeping your UVB bulb hidden from view since its really deep. The lamp is thin which is handy when you need to have more than one side by side and the switch is nice as well. The only draw back I have found is the lack of a clamp attachment, although when using it with a uvb its fine since you don't want the lamp angled where you could damage your eyes looking into it.

5Zoo Med Deep Dome Lamp Fixture, black  Jun 09, 2011
By TheBuckeyeFamily
Looks and works great! I use mine with Reptisun 10.0 compact linear florescent bulb paired with the ZOO Med Reptile lamp stand.

3Not good for long term use.  May 25, 2011
By Ehirsh85
These are ok for a year and a half. I have had mine since 2009/2010 they just don't really last long. They start to not work as well and then they stop working altogether. If they were less expensive it might be worth it. I have gone back to using a stand and workshop lamps with a ceramic fixture.

2Stopped working after two years  Sep 07, 2011
By D. Barbee
I was using this fixture with a 150 watt ceramic heater over my python's cage. Worked great in that it was able to sit on the wire screen cover directly. The two negatives I can report are:

1) The strain relief were the cord goes into the socket is inadequate. Just the weight of the cord hanging over the edge of the tank is enough to pull it loos from the socket.

2) After a little over two years the on/off switch no longer closes and turns off the fixture. You can wiggle the switch and it will turn back on, but after a few minutes it goes out again.

So overall, for the price id expect it to last much more than two years.

5It's Zoo Med!  Oct 03, 2011
By EiNST3iN
It's Zoo Med, what else can you say or possibly worry about? They are known for fine products and they certainly didn't cut corners with this lamp. It feels very sturdy and strong in the metal. The paint is done very well and definitely will not chip. The porcelin top stays tightly attatched to the dome with a strong, thick wire hanger to support it all with. The cord has a very sturdy switch attached to it that comes in handy if you do not have a timer for your light.

Overall this lamp was made without any lack of quality.

I definitely recommend buying these!
