Perfect for chickens! Dec 10, 2010
By R. Petrosso I use this product to keep the water in my chicken coop from freezing. It works well and doesn't effect the sleeping habits of the chickens because it emits no visible light. If you're unsure about what wattage to get you can compare the heat of this, to the heat a traditional light bulb puts out.

Excellent CHE Jun 20, 2011
By maverickgtr I have three 100W Ceramic Heat Emitters for my two snakes and my bearded dragon. Two for the snakes are kept on dimmers that keep the temperatures right where they need to be. The one for my bearded dragon keeps the 40 gallon breeder tank right at the temperatures she needs and keeps her basking spot around 105 degrees. The CHE is approximately 15 inches above her basking spot. This brand has worked great so far, and I've had all three around two months and they are still going strong, which is a lot better than the regular red infrared bulbs I was using before that only lasted around a month and a half.

great product Nov 27, 2009

Shipped on time. My dog Shamus loves it. I tried putting a light bulb in his house but it was so bright he slept outside even when it was freezing. Now with the emitter his house is comfortable warm. I considered getting the 150W but decided on the 100W and I think it works fine. I think the 150W would be too hot. This is basically what the sold as a dog house heater but without the metal covering. Wish I have known about it years ago.

Cozy dog house Dec 14, 2010
By Analysis Paralysis Made a doghouse heater using this in conjunction with a line voltage thermostat and a brooder style reflector, protected the whole assembly with heavy gauge wire cloth. Works like a charm, even gentle heat for our dogs and should last for a long time. Its been keeping our dog house about 20 degrees above ambient this winter, even better when the dogs are in there and their body heat is added to the mix.

great heater Aug 15, 2011

The heater i received was defective, having crushed threads(box was not crushed, so this was a manufacturer defect). Zoomed had a great no-hassle return policy. The replacement was packed with great care, and works perfectly!
