" Wil not harm koi or goldfish"....???? Jul 15, 2011

This is an extreemly powerful chemical....unfortunately it killed all 6 of my small koi in a 20 gallon aquarium. I probably used too much....be careful to use EXACTLY as directed if you have fish. The quote " Will not harm aquatic pond plants, koi or goldfish" is on the front of the label. This is a dangerous statement.

My pond is thankful Jun 20, 2011
By SoCal Thom We have a small backyard pond, with both plant and fish life (goldfish and mosquito fish). This year the string algae bloom was out of control, and nothing I tried worked. I was reluctant to use a chemical approach, but I did my research, and PondCare Algae Fix was often cited as a safe, effective solution.
Within two weeks of application according to the directions, the string algae was effectively eliminated. Pond plants showed no ill effects, and up until the raccoons raided our pond, the fish weren't harmed a bit. Our pond is a prolific producer of dragonflies, which also seem not to be adversely affected by Algae Fix. A small weekly dose has kept our pond clear and algae-free ever since.
Amazon's price for the 32oz bottle is about one-third less than the cost of buying it from our local pet supply store. If string algae is a problem for you, give Algae Fix a try. It took care of the problem for me.

it works. May 01, 2011
By ARMorris I bought this product when I looked at my pond one day and could not see the fish! It took three treatments, the fish were fine and I've been maintaining it once a week with no problem. The only thing you have to be careful with is keeping your pump on while using it. We never shut ours off, so it was not a problem. I read the previous review also, and I don't know why it worked for us and not for that owner, but I recommend this with no hesitation.

Not a good experience for me Jan 31, 2011
By Eat Love Laugh I purchased this product to reduce algae blooms in a koi pond. I followed the label directions carefully, considering that I was adding a chemical to a pond full of wonderful koi fish. I actually went slightly under the dosage directions on the bottle, knowing that the algae reduction process takes time- and I didn't want to shock the fish. I applied the dosage at about 5pm on a Saturday in about 70 degree (F) outside temp.
Early Sunday morning, I found 3 dead koi floating on the surface of the water, and 2 more koi swimming in a corkscrew fashion, clearly in distress. I performed an urgent water change to flush out the pond water and fill it with fresh water. The other 2 koi unfortunately died.
The remaining koi (about 30) survived after the water change. I'm not directly blaming the product, but I have discontinued using it. I have since installed a large bio-filter with a UV light attachment. This has been WONDERFUL at controlling algae, and I will be writing a review on it's performance as it has now been in service for about 6 months.
I disposed of the remainder of this product without using more than the first dosage.

Thiseat stuff is a miracle worker in my pond. After using this my water is Crystal clear. I only complaint that I have is the packaging. I ordered two bottles of this and both of the bottles had a little of the product leak out. But this is a great product if your pond has algae.
